Basement is an important area of the house for insulation purpose. Basement walls handle moisture from both outside and inside the house, that’s why basement need Wall Insulation more than anything else. There are various advantages of insulating the walls of basement such as easy to insulate, minimizes thermal bridging and heat loss through the walls, prevents moisture intrusion, etc.

Most commonly used insulation types are blanket insulation, rigid plastic board, or spray insulation. Choose the one that best fits your basement requirements.

Pre-calculate the cost of whole process including the price of insulation material and other costs. While working in the basement, provide enough lightening, keep insulating materials away from sources of heat, watch-out for old pipes and wiring while insulation.

Your basement walls may be made of wood–frame or solid-brick. In a wood-frame wall, insulation is fitted up into the cavities in the walls while in solid-brick walls cavity is not enough big that’s why a cavity must be created. The preferred method for basement insulation is to insulate the wall form the outside using rigid-wall insulation. Interior insulation can also be used.
